Royal Engagement Magazine

The Brief

The MirrorPix team at Trinity Mirror wanted us to put together a 120pp + 4pp cover pictorial supplement to celebrate the Royal Engagement of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The title would need to be heavily picture lead and have each section designed with a clear indication of the subject matter. The title was sold both in the UK and to various territories around the world.

The Solution

We chose a strong colour pallet with blue and black being the dominant with subtle touches of gold throughout. A stylish serif font combined with a sleek sans serif typeface on certain pages to compliment was agreed on. Each section would open up with a long read on a double page spread to indicate the clear beginning of a new subject matter. All images would be placed in a chronological order and also designed in a way so that the imagery was the main focal point of every single section.
