World War 1 Armistice Magazine

The Brief

The Mirrorpix team at Reach Plc requested a 152pp + 4pp cover title to be designed in commemoration to mark 100 years since the end of the first World War. The title needed to be lead heavily by the excellent imagery which impressively depicted the mood and feeling. The client required for the title to be broken down into four equal sections to clearly indicate the four year period that the conflict was spread across.

The Solution

We agreed with the client to keep colour down to an absolute minimum and only use very sparingly so as not to take away the impact of the photography on offer. We broke each of the four sections required down into sub sections within and placed a short pictorial of generic shots from various different battles to clearly indicate the beginning and end of each major section. Finally a decision was made to design a front cover that captured a positive mood of soldiers in celebration of the war being over and the nation able to move into peace time. I have to say that working on this project was an absolute honour to everyone at TDW and was a very humbling yet full filling experience as well.

What our clients are saying...

“TDW where again a joy to work with, Stewart and his team really managed to capture the mood and essence of the powerful and historical subject matter at hand. We look forward to working on future projects together.”
